New Year's Eve Nail Art: Our Top Three Designs

New Year's Eve Nail Art: Our Top Three Designs

Not only is Christmas around the corner, but our favourite party night of the year: New Year’s Eve. As we say goodbye to our Santa-filled seasonal set of nails, we can get creative with some gorgeously glam designs to ring in the new year.

Here are some of our favourite looks to give you some inspo and help you look the part for your New Year celebrations.

Ombre Glitter

What you’ll need:

How to create ombre glitter nails:

  1. Apply a thin layer of Bluesky Base Coat to all five nails, capping the ends, and cure for 60 seconds under your Bluesky nail lamp.
  2. Apply your chosen colour gel polish in the same way as the base coat; a thin coat, cap the end, avoid your skin. Cure the gel polish for 60 seconds.
  3. Repeat steps 3 and 4 building up the colour each time. 1 coat will give a sheer finish, 2 is normal, 3 will be a solid colour.
  4. Take your chosen glitter gel polish and apply to the top of the nail. Wipe the excess glitter from your brush and drag the glitter down to create your ombre effect. Once happy, cure for 60 seconds.
  5. Repeat this for your chosen number of nails, always curing for 60 seconds for each nail.
  6. Once happy with your design, apply your Bluesky Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds. Finish by wiping nail with a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe for a high-shine finish.

Nail Art With Foils

What you’ll need:

How to create nail art with foils:

  4. Take your transferable silver foil and press onto your nail for 1-2 seconds until the foil has transferred.
  5. Repeat the process to create the pattern you are looking for – you can cover the nail with foil or do 2-3 pieces of foil to create a pattern.
  6. Once happy with your design, apply your Bluesky Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds. Finish by wiping nail with a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe for a high-shine finish.
