5 Nail Designs You Need To Try

Now that Christmas is behind us *sobs* and we’ve stored away our red and green glitters for another year, it’s time to get started with some brand-new nails.

January is often doom and gloom, so this month we want our nails to be the opposite. Here are five of our favourite, simple nail designs to try out to get your 2020 nail started with a bang!

Pops of Colour

One of the top nail trends for 2020 and proof that neon isn’t going out of style just yet. Try adding small but stand-out pops of colour to your nail designs to brighten up the rainy January days.

Our favourite look is a nude base finished with a bright and bold design or neon coloured tips – think French Manicure, but a lot brighter!

Mixed-Up Manicure

One colour? Please, that’s so 2019… This is a look for those of us who can never choose just one colour of gel polish, so we choose three or four instead!

Show off your style with a mixed mani and pair your favourite gel polish shades with a glitter for a super simple yet incredibly stylish look. Minimal effort required and absolute style achieved.

Abstract Nails

Abstract nail designs might be our favourite because you can’t really go too wrong! While different designs require a steady hand – and definitely a nail art brush to apply the gel polish – there are plenty of simple designs you can get creative with.

This nail design works great with a nude base and plenty of pretty pastels on top. It’s a perfect nail art design for those of you who like experimenting with colour, but keeping it subtle.

Nail Art Hearts

Nail art – but keep it simple. We know plenty of you like the idea of getting creative with nail art but aren’t too sure where to start. This super cute design only takes a sprinkling of patience and skill but gives your nails a gorgeous little addition that we absolutely love.

Make sure you use a thin nail art brush to create this design. The hearts can be placed wherever you fancy to create your ideal look.

Polka Dot Nails

We’re all for easy nail art, and all you need for this look is gel polish and an orangewood stick – the perfect nail art to do at home!

Create an accent nail or two with a polka dot design or go for it with a full set of dotty nails. We love this look which combines glitter and nail art for something different.
