Christmas Nail Art Ideas: Festive Nail Designs You Will Love

We're well and truly in the festive spirit already, and it got us thinking about one thing: Christmas nail art.

With so many Christmas nail designs to try and plenty of Christmas nail art colours to choose from, it makes sense to start in November and to design as many different styles as possible! We've chosen our favourite easy nail art designs for you to try yourself this festive season.

Christmas Glitter Nails

What you'll need:

Tip: Put some paper down before you start to catch any loose glitter!

How to create nail art with Mermaid Glitter:

  1. Apply a thin layer of Bluesky Base Coat to all five nails, capping the ends, and cure for 60 seconds under your Bluesky nail lamp.
  2. Apply your chosen colour gel polish in the same way as the base coat; a thin coat, cap the end, avoid your skin. Cure the gel polish for 60 seconds.
  3. Repeat steps 3 and 4 building up the colour each time. 1 coat will give a sheer finish, 2 is normal, 3 will be a solid colour.
  4. Take some glitter onto your finger and pat onto your nail. You can sprinkle some glitter into the lid and take from there for easier application. Apply glitter until you are happy with the coverage.
  5.  Shake off the excess glitter before applying your Bluesky Top Coat and curing for 60 seconds.
  6. Use a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe to remove the sticky residue leaving super shiny nails.

Nail Art With Striping Tape

What you need:

  1. Apply a thin layer of Bluesky Base Coat to all five nails, capping the ends, and cure for 60 seconds under your Bluesky nail lamp.
  2. Apply your first colour gel polish in the same way as the base coat; a thin coat, cap the end, avoid your skin. Cure the gel polish for 60 seconds.
  3. Repeat steps 3 and 4 building up the colour each time. 1 coat will give a sheer finish, 2 is normal, 3 will be a solid colour.
  4.  Use a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe to wipe the tacky layer off the nail – this is so the Bluesky Striping Tape can be removed easily without damaging the gel manicure.
  5. Apply Bluesky Striping Tape in your desired pattern before applying a second gel polish colour, ensuring you don’t go over the lines. Once happy, cure for 60 seconds.
  6.  Carefully peel off the tape before applying your Bluesky Top Coat and curing for 60 seconds.
  7. Use a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe to finish your gel manicure in style.

Christmas Marbling

What you’ll need:

How to create a marble effect with gel polish:

  1. Apply a thin layer of Bluesky Base Coat to all five nails, capping the ends, and cure for 60 seconds under your Bluesky nail lamp.
  2. Apply your red gel polish in the same way as the base coat; a thin coat, cap the end, avoid your skin. Cure the gel polish for 60 seconds.
  3. Repeat steps 3 and 4 building up the colour each time. 1 coat will give a sheer finish, 2 is normal, 3 will be a solid colour.
  4. On a palette, place a thick blob of each gel polish – you’ll need red, dark red, gold glitter and white. Mix then all together as shown – use a thin nail art brush for the best effect.
  5. Use a thicker nail art brush to take the marbled colour onto your brush. Draw a line from the bottom of your nail to the top and repeat until your desired pattern has been created.
  6. Once happy, cure your nail for 60 seconds. You can then repeat this design for different nails, curing for 60 seconds each time.
  7. Apply your Bluesky Top Coat and cure for 60 seconds once your design is complete.
  8. Use a Bluesky Cleanser Wipe to remove the sticky residue leaving super shiny nails.
